Discontinued Candle Scents

A worse situation would be finding out that candle scent you need is no longer for sale.

If you are running your own candle website based business, you know it is not always fun and games. Sometimes running your own candle company online can be tough and de-motivating. There is always something that can go wrong, whether it's the website going down, or something completely weird and unexpected.

Something that has happened to me on more than one occasion was running out of candle scent for my order. When you are stocking over 90 different candle scents, sometimes it can be tough to keep on top of your candle scent inventory. A worse situation would be finding out that candle scent you need is no longer for sale.

You may not always be able to find the specific candle scent that was ordered by your customer. Candle scents are discontinued all the time. When this happens to you, you will have to come up with some sort of way to satisfy your customer without sending them the candle they ordered. My solution for this dilemma was to refund the money spent on the candle or candles ordered for the discontinued candle scent, and then added a free candle to the customers' order as well.

Now, this was not a perfect sitation for me as an online candle business owner, but it was the best I could do at the time. Running out of candles supplies happens, but when you find out you can no longer get a certain candle container or candle scent you are selling on your site, it's a big problem waiting to happen.
