Hardships Of Running A Candle Business
There is always the possibility you will run out of a candle scent you need to fulfill an order.
Owning and operating your own candle website business can be a difficult and trying task at times. There are problems with any business, and that is true for a candle website business. Some problems will be small, but others may create a big problem with running your candle website business.
There is always the possibility you will run out of a candle scent you need to fulfill an order. When you are stocking 100 or more candle scents and offering all of them from your candle website, you will find keeping up with all the candle scents on hand, as well as the candle scents being discontinued and added is a pain. On more than one occassion, I have had orders placed for candles, and then found out I was currently out of the candle scent ordered.
Even if you use several candle suppliers, you may not be able to find a particular candle scent. It seems candle scents are disontinued pretty regularly. When this happens to you, you will have to come up with some sort of way to satisfy your customer without sending them the candle they ordered.
Of course you will want to refund the customers money immediately, but you may also want to throw in a free candle for the inconvienence. This is not the ideal solution from a business owners perspective, but it was my best solution for the problem. So, make sure you keep on top of available candle scents and candle containers carried by your suppliers. This may not sound like too much to some of you reading this, but if you are not prepared in advance, you could have some poetential problems running your candle website business.
Another poetential pitfall with running a candle website business is with the containers. From time to time, some containers may become dropped by your main candle supplier. This is almost as bad as the candle scents if you are offering a large number of containers to your customers. There were several occasions where I ran low on a certain type of candle container and when I went to buy more containers I found out that they had been discontinued! This is always bad news to anyone trying to maintain their candle website, promote it, make the candles, check inventory, and shipping them out. That is a big task for any individual and should be considered.
